Myrtle
Beach Center - Santee Cooper wants to incorporate
the use of solar energy at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Their
design allows for a 24 foot Rain Canopy lined with solar cells to
be erected in the Convention Center’s plaza. The solar
cells would generate five-kilowatt hours of electricity, enough to
light 50 100-watt light bulbs. As of June 2004, this plan has
yet to be approved by the City council. http://www.wbt.com/news/detail_wbt.cfm?article_id=18084
