USC Connect Student Representative Board

The Student Representative Board was formed in Spring 2012 by students who worked with the Office of USC Connect to create a plan for student leadership in developing and implementing USC Connect.

Mission Statement

USC Connect Student Representative Board is a representative body of students that serves as a central resource to promote integrative learning at the University of South Carolina. The Student Representative board helps students identify opportunities for involvement, undergraduate research, internships, study abroad, and community service. Through our guidance, students are encouraged to reflect on these beyond the classroom experiences and connect them with knowledge gained within the classroom.

Vision Statement

To enhance the learning of all students by promoting participation in beyond the classroom experiences, creating opportunities for reflection of these experiences and encouraging students to lead their peers both beyond and within the classroom.

Meetings

Student Representative Board meetings are open to all students.

• Promotions to raise student awareness of USC Connect
• An interactive Facebook page focused on sharing student stories of integrating learning through within and beyond the classroom experiences
• Welcome week activities focused on courses and programs that integrate learning within and beyond the classroom
• Information sessions on USC Connect presented by Representative Board members to student organizations, residence halls, and others

Any USC student interested in participating is welcome to attend Student Representative Board meetings. A plan to engage students at Lancaster, Salkehatchie, Sumter, and Union in USC Connect student leadership is under development.
