CHILDREN'S CENTER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA
The University of South Carolina Child Development and Research Center opened in September, 2003. This $4.1 million child development and research center has been established to become a national model for early childhood education.

The first floor houses a full-day year-round non-profit 501(c)(3) child development center licensed by the state of South Carolina to serve up to 200 children. The Center was awarded accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children in June 2006. That means it meets the highest national standards of quality programming for the young children of USC faculty, staff, students and the general public in a state-of-the-art facility. The Center participates in the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child and Adult Food Program which defrays the cost of nutritious meals and snacks for all enrolled children.

The second level includes offices, research and observation areas for university faculty, researchers and students; an activity room; a technology-enhanced classroom; and a classroom with advanced digital audiovisual, internet and TV production capabilities.
