Header Page Titles
One of the common elements of the USC Web Presence is the consistent use of page titles to help guide the viewer. There are two ways that these page titles can be utilized over an entire site. The Header Page Title may change from page to page to reflect the content of the page or the same title may be applied to an entire site and headlines used in the content area to indicate changing page content.
The white, all caps Header Page Title (not to be confused with the HTML Title Tag located in the browser window) is the text layer of a graphic that includes the black South Carolina Banner. The text must be changed using an image-manipulation program such as Adobe PhotoShop. The text can change, but the typographic style must remain the same.
The template contains three variations (a, b, and c) to accommodate short, medium, or long page titles, respectively. The illustrations below show examples of one-line (up to 28 characters), and two-line (up to 35 characters per line) titles and the typographic specifications for each. As a whole, the illustrations also show a way to maintain continuity through different levels (i.e., college level, department level, etc).
