Summer Physics Labs

This web site is committed to helping you get the most out of your summer online physics laboratory experience.  Here we provide links to information on the summer versions of Physics 201/202 and 211/212 laboratory courses.  Of course, this is a work in progress and is continually being improved and amended.  If you don't find what you are looking for here, let us know and we'll work to get the information up as quickly as possible.

Summer Lab Overview:

Our department offers our introductory physics labs (PHYS 201L, 202L, 211L, and 212L) during the summer using a custom online teaching model.  If you decide to register for one of these lab courses, please note the following:

  • The lab courses meet at the times listed in Self-Service Carolina (SSC). You MUST be able to attend online at these times.
  • We will use Zoom as our meeting platform.
  • The meetings may or may not be recorded. Do not rely on this.
  • The labs meet on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week unless directed otherwise by the instructor for the lab course.
  • The first meeting is an orientation for the course, more information will be given at this time.
    Make every effort to attend this meeting.

For Summer 2024:

PHYS 201L and 211L labs are taught online during the 3S1 summer session.
The 3S1 session dates are: May 6th, 2024 to June 13th 2024.

PHYS 202L and 212L labs are taught online during the 3S2 summer session.
The 3S2 session dates are: June 17th, 2024 to July 25th, 2024.
