OneCarolina Business Review Program
Business Process Waivers and System Certifications
In support of the OneCarolina project, the following Business Review Program (BRP) has been established to address where business and technology needs do not meet specified University standards. The BRP process is designed to support the following types of change requests:
Legacy Software Freeze Waiver – It is anticipated that during the OneCarolina project the Legacy systems may need to be changed for regulatory and possibly strategic needs. If you require changes to the existing Legacy Software systems, you will need to apply for a Legacy Freeze Waiver (http://www.sc.edu/change/).
Business Process - In the event that a new business process needs to be established during the OneCarolina project, the OneCarolina software suite may need modification to meet the new process and/or data needs. In this case, you need to apply for a Business Process Waiver (http://www.sc.edu/OneCarolina/issues/).
New or Existing Software Systems - In the event a department determines that a 3rd party software or auxiliary system needs to be interfaced with the OneCarolina software suite, the BRP program will provide a means for presenting the costs, funding source and impacts to other systems within the University. In this case, you should apply for a System Data Interface Certification (http://www.sc.edu/OneCarolina/issues/).
Data Interfaces – The OneCarolina project is designed to completely integrate University data. In the event there is a need to migrate data to or from the secure OneCarolina data repository, the BPR program will provide the means for determining the costs and impacts. In this case, you should apply for a System Data Interface Certification (http://www.sc.edu/OneCarolina/issues/).
The remainder of this document outlines the program and procedures necessary to apply for waivers and certifications.
