OneCarolina set to begin next phase of project
The Board of Trustees has given the green light to OneCarolina Phase Two, meaning work on the comprehensive overhaul of the university system's finance, payroll, and human resources infrastructure is expected to begin next year and wrap up in 2016.
"We're grateful to the Board of Trustees, our sponsors, and the university community for allowing us to continue this groundbreaking project," said OneCarolina Project Director Bob Swab. "After a successful first phase of OneCarolina, I think we're all anxious to get started on the next piece of this critical implementation."
It was also announced that Oracle has been chosen as the primary vendor for Phase Two. Oracle’s PeopleSoft software applications have been providing comprehensive business and industry solutions for over 25 years.
Phase Two will include the transition of accounts payable, procurement, payroll, and human resources functionality to an online, self-service environment.
“We’ll be moving all of the things employees do now on VIP, such as manage their payroll information, onto a new system,” added Swab. “Over the next few years, we’ll be in close contact with our faculty and staff to let them know how and when things are going to change.”
