New Student Orientation

What is a new student orientation?

Student orientation is designed to assist you in your transition into your first year of college. We use this day to show you around your new home, introduce you to faculty and staff, and ensure that you're fully prepared to become a student at USC Salkehatchie.

What to expect

At New Student Orientation, you will:

  • Attend admissions and financial aid presentations
  • Learn about Self Service Carolina
  • Register for your classes
  • Learn how to pay your bill
  • Play games!
  • Take a campus tour
  • Get information on potential majors, including Nursing, Education and Palmetto College degrees
  • Meet current students, faculty and staff

Note: Orientation will last most of the day. Please make arrangements so that you can stay the entire time. Lunch is provided.

Parent Orientation

While new students are introduced to USC Salkehatchie, parents are invited to visit campus for a separate Parent Orientation program. You'll meet administrators and faculty members and get a better sense of topics such as residence halls, academic life and the social opportunities on campus.

Parent and student orientations take place at the same time.
