I’m from South Carolina, born and bred! I graduated from Winthrop University in 2011 with a degree in History. After my first step on campus at USC I knew I was a welcome member of the Carolina family. When I’m not assisting future Gamecocks in the admissions office I enjoy playing guitar, exercising, and cheering on USC and Atlanta sports teams.

My favorite USC memory took place while studying abroad in London. After jumping with excitement in the Kingston University Library for Alshon Jeffrey’s second touchdown against then number one Alabama, I realized I was not the lone Carolina fan in the building when another student shouted “GO ALSHON!” almost simultaneously. It was amazing to see the reach of USC’s fan base in action.

If I could impart any advice to a prospective college applicant, it would be to visit the campus itself. Every university is an ecosystem within itself. Visit each campus you’re interested in and try to find your niche! Also, don’t be afraid to ask any questions throughout the search for the right institution or the admissions process.
