Orientation

Orientation is the best way to meet your advisor, register for classes, and begin your transition into life at the University of South Carolina.

At Orientation, new students will

  • become familiar with University expectations
  • learn about campus services and resources
  • meet with an academic advisor
  • register for classes
  • take placement tests
  • receive their Carolina Card student ID

Your Orientation session will be led by University administrators with the assistance of qualified student leaders who will answer your questions and help guide you into your first semester.

Freshman Orientation Dates

For Spring 2013- Orientation will be held on January 9 for all majors. You will need to sign up at orientation.sc.edu.

Orientation dates for summer and fall 2013 will be posted when available.

Transfer Orientation Dates

For Spring 2013

  • January 10 (All majors except those within the College of Arts & Sciences)
  • January 11 (Only majors within the College of Arts and Sciences)
