Pete joined the University of South Carolina in June 2011 in this newly created position to help bring the university's brand to life. He works across all departments and divisions to help implement the university's integrated marketing and communications plan.

Prior to coming to USC, Pete was the assistant vice president in charge of branding at the University at Buffalo. While there, Pete and his team introduced the concept of integrated marketing and branding to the university community. The program, now in its fifth year has grown and become the benchmark for institutional marketing communications.

Pete's love for branding began early in his career while he was senior vice president in charge of brand development at HSBC bank. There he recognized the important role a strong brand plays in the success of an entire organization. It was through the development of several strategic initiatives that he realized that the organization's brand is truly communicating its personality to a variety of different groups. A brand lives and grows beyond a campaign or recruitment cycle and stays with the customer over the long term.

A native of Buffalo, N.Y., Pete earned his master's of business administration from The Johnson School at Cornell University and his bachelor's degree from The State University of New York at Fredonia. Pete is delighted to be in South Carolina and is excited to be joining a very talented communications team.
