A newly created department within the Division of Communications, Strategic Marketing develops strategies and provides leadership to enhance and build the university's brand image. These strategies reflect a targeted approach to integrated marketing throughout the university. The department provides services in the areas of strategic communications, market planning, advertising, direct marketing and market research. The staff provides marketing support for all Division of Communications efforts. This department develops and leads the university's official integrated marketing communications plan.
University Creative Services provides creative print and electronic communications support for the university's overarching marketing and communications initiatives. Professional staff members work closely with the departments of Strategic Marketing, News and Internal Communications, Web Communications, and the University Magazine Group to promote the University of South Carolina brand. UCS strives to fulfill its mission by providing continuity and consistency of institutional messages; accuracy and clarity of content; effective and appropriate communication of ideas to targeted audiences; creativity and quality in concept, presentation and production; and timeliness of production and distribution.
