Margaret is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor's degree in political science.
She began her career in journalism, working at dailies in Columbia and Charleston and at the Atlanta Constitution before "going over the wall" to higher education. Her family ties to Carolina are strong. Husband Bob teaches at USC; son Tyler is a 2008 grad, and son Carson is an undergraduate student.
She says her Pitbull, Dro, and her Westie, Carley, would be Gamecocks too if they could. Instead, they've settled for walks on the Horseshoe, where Margaret says she goes for inspiration and contemplation.
