Megan Sexton joined the Office of News and Internal Communications in March 2010 after more than 27 years as a reporter and editor at daily newspapers in Columbia, Charlotte and Myrtle Beach.
As a senior writer in the office, she coordinates coverage in the areas of student affairs, University Libraries, the College of Education, the South Carolina Honors College, the College of Social Work, the South Carolina College of Pharmacy and the College of Nursing. She also serves as the editor in the Office of News and Internal Communications.
She is a New Jersey native who never left the South after arriving at the University of South Carolina in the fall of 1977. She graduated from USC in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Megan lives with her husband (a journalist) and two teen-age sons in the Hollywood-Rose Hill neighborhood near the USC campus.
