Peggy Binette has been a media relations professional for 18 years.
As assistant director, Peggy promotes research, programs and events for the College of Arts and Sciences, the Darla Moore School of Business, the School of Law, the College of Mass Communications and Information Sciences. She is the primary contact for the university's sustainability initiatives, serving on the university's environmental advisory committee, and is a communications liaison to the university's comprehensive and regional campuses. She is actively involved in the Division of Communications social media efforts, providing content for Twitter and Facebook and serves as a student organization faculty/staff advisor.
Before joining the university's staff in 1994, Peggy worked in advertising as a sales executive and as an account executive for Price McNabb Inc., managing advertising and marketing communications for McDonald's co-ops accounts in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
A native of Basking Ridge, NJ, she is a 1988 graduate of the University of South Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Married to longtime former Gamecock assistant sports information director Brian Binette, Peggy often can be found on youth sports fields throughout the state, watching her sons play soccer, or reading.
