Mission: To create a campus environment that encourages and promotes the development and maintenance of a healthy body, mind, and spirit through the collaborative development, promotion and assessment of a wide-ranging array of wellness programs and services for all students, faculty and staff at the University of South Carolina.
Purpose: The purpose of this initiative will be to guide the planning and implementation of programs, interventions and policies that support a healthy campus environment to live, learn, work, and play.
Rationale: We recognize that there are a number of health related initiatives on campus currently, yet the campus community lacks a focused comprehensive approach. This initiative is designed to create a campus wide dialog focused on health and wellness and to improve the coordinated effort of health related messages and activities. We know that health status influences learning as well as work productivity and therefore intend this initiative to promote healthy learning communities
