Michelle Burcin, PhD, MPH, CHES

Dr. Michelle Burcin currently serves as the Director of Healthy Carolina. In this role, Michelle is responsible for collaborative development, promotion and assessment of a wide-ranging array of wellness programs and research at the University of South Carolina. More than nine years of experience in college health has prepared Michelle to develop Healthy Carolina as an initiative to enhance student learning; improve the recruitment, retention and productivity of faculty and staff; and to be a catalyst for health research.
Michelle received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in Health Promotion and her master’s and doctoral degrees in Health Promotion Education and Behavior from the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. In her free time, Michelle enjoys attending football games with her husband, Mike, who is the assistant coach for the men’s golf team, and spending time with their dog, Emma. |

Holly Harring, MSPH

Holly Harring joined Healthy Carolina in 2007. She earned a BS in Health and Exercise Science from Furman University in 2005 and an MSPH in Health Promotion, Education and Behavior from the University of South Carolina. Holly is the Coordinator for Healthy Carolina and serves as the co-chair for the Healthy Carolina Task Force on Nutrition. Currently, Holly is pursuing a Ph.D in Public Health. Holly’s research interests are nutrition, college health and sustainable living. Holly is an avid runner and enjoys baking in her free time. |

Justin received his B.S. in Exercise, Sport, and Health Education from Radford University. He is currently working on obtaining his MPH in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior here at the University of South Carolina. In his free time, he enjoys playing a variety of sports, cooking, and writing. |

Wan received her B.A. in Languages and Graphic Design from Bernard Baruch College, City University of New York. She loves to travel and study foreign languages. Her dream is to become a unique graphic artist and travel around the world. |
