Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Graduate Assistantship

Elizabeth Boatwright Coker of Hartsville, South Carolina, a noted author and supporter of literary and historical endeavors, has donated funds to the South Caroliniana Library for the establishment of an assistantship for graduate history students. As a result of Ms. Coker's generosity, worthy students are encouraged and enabled to advance their professional research skills.

The Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Graduate Assistantship is shared with the University of South Carolina's Department of History. Each academic year, one student in the Applied History Program is selected as the recipient of the Coker Assistantship. Recipients gain valuable work experience and training through their work with the collections of the South Caroliniana Library.

For information on how to apply for the Coker Assistantship or on any of the University Libraries' endowments, please contact us.
