Katherine Otis and Bruce Oswald Hunt Biography Collection Endowment

The purpose of this endowment is to purchase biographical materials, including new publications and rare books, as well as biographical materials in non-print formats such as manuscripts, films, and videorecordings. These materials will benefit the South Caroliniana Library, Thomas Cooper Library's Special Collections, general reference collections, and film collections.

Recent acquisitions include biographies of Noam Chomsky, Marcel Duchamp, Dian Fossey, James Joyce, Olinde Rodrigues, Jean-Paul Sartre, Frank Lloyd Wright, Edgar Allen Poe, Winston Churchill, Norbert Wiener, Franz Kafka, Pablo Picasso, Fritz Haber, Walt Whitman, Jean Genet, Mark Twain, Michel Foucault, Marie Curie, Shelby Foote, and complete reference works such as the Dictionary of Modern American Philosophers and The Dictionary of Nineteenth-Century British Philosophers.
