In an historic 1980 donation, the University of South Carolina was selected by 20^th Century Fox Film Corporation to receive a portion of the Fox Movietone News Collection.  This gift of internationally important, irreplaceable, and unique newsreel footage was the starting point for what has become one of the most significant academically housed newsfilm libraries in the United States.

The Newsfilm Library is open to the general public. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.
