New Collection Open for Research!

SCPC is proud to announce the opening of the Ernest F. Hollings Collection, our largest collection to date.  At 860 linear feet, this collection documents Hollings’ service as Lt. Governor, Governor, and U.S. Senator, as well as his numerous campaigns.

Please visit the Hollings finding aid page for more information.

Materials from the Hollings Collection will be on display in the East Gallery at Thomas Cooper Library through the end of July, 2008.

Established in 1991, South Carolina Political Collections (SCPC) collects, preserves, and encourages research in private papers documenting South Carolinians and their government at the national and state levels in the post-World War II era.

Our collections include records of South Carolina's leaders in Congress and the General Assembly, the state's political parties, and other individuals and organizations playing substantive roles in politics and government. Our oral history program supplements the collected documentary record.
