Each year the WWW grows bigger with more and more sites added to choose from. As soon as any list is published the URL or web address may be taken down and the information will no longer be available where you thought it would be. Another aspect is that web sites sit forgotten and unattended. The information grows old and out-dated, yet are presented in the same way the latest sites with current information are. Only through carefully checking can you determine which category any particular site falls into. To the best of my ability I've tried to pick sites that will have some 'permanence and credibility' on the web. If the address given isn't responding, try shortening the address or try doing a web search for the title given.

This site lists over 125 women's names from our scientific and technical past. This site grew out of the public talks given by Dr. Sethanne Howard. The list includes inventors, scholars and writers as well as mathematicians and astronomers and emphasizes mainly pre-20th century women. Biographies are now listed by discipline.
