Selected Bibliographies compiled for the University of South Carolina Thirteenth
Annual Women's Studies Conference, February 24-25, 2000
Each year the WWW grows bigger with more and more sites added to choose from. As soon
as any list is published the URL or web address may be taken down and the information
will no longer be available where you thought it would be. Another aspect is that web
sites sit forgotten and unattended. The information grows old and out-dated, yet are
presented in the same way the latest sites with current information are. Only through
carefully checking can you determine which category any particular site falls into.
To the best of my ability I've tried to pick sites that will have some 'permanence and
credibility' on the web. If the address given isn't responding, try shortening the
address or try doing a web search for the title given.
If you aren't familiar with using the Web, Thomas Cooper Library offer classes in beginning and
advanced searching of the Web or arrangements can be made to have someone come to your
office. The schedule is available on the USC Training page - University Libraries http://training.csd.sc.edu/tcl/tcl.htm

There are writers, educators, scientists, heads of state, politicians, civil rights crusaders,
artists, entertainers, and others. Some were alive hundreds of years ago and some are living
today. We've heard of some of them, while many more have been ignored by history book writers.
