College of Nursing

The College of Nursing offer's online master's, post-master's certificate and the Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs.  The PhD program is designed for small cohorts (7-10 students each year) with flexible scheduling and tuition support.

USC offers master's degrees in acute care (clinical nursing) with an emphasis on adult/gerontology or primary care (health nursing) with an emphasis on adult/gerontology or family. Each track will provide students with knowledge and skills required for advanced practice nursing and to take on leadership positions within their field.

Graduates of USC's post-master's certificate programs are eligible to take national certification exams to become nurse practitioners in either primary or acute care. 

USC offers two types of nursing doctoral degrees: clinical (DNP) and research (Ph.D.). The clinical program will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage individual and population-focused health care, evaluate evidence for clinical practice, innovate the practice of nursing, exert leadership and influence health care policy. The research track gives students the knowledge and skills needed to conduct original research and become nurse scientists and faculty.
