UNIV 101 Communications and Information Primer
UNIV 101 List-Serv Digest - This list-serv is sent to instructors each Wednesday during the fall semester from SharePoint. Information in this list-serv is categorized as information for instructors, peer/graduate leaders, and/or for students. This e-mail is sent to your @mailbox account. If you want it sent to another account, change your e-mail address within SharePoint. The list-serv digests are archived on SharePoint for review.
Additional E-mails - University 101 Programs Staff will send specific e-mails about the following information. If you need to request information about the following things, please contact that person. The e-mail address used will be the e-mail address you indicate on your Request to Teach form.
Dan - Institutional, departmental, and course administration information
Mary Elizabeth - Transitions and FYRE information and the UNIV 101 List-Serv Digest
Kevin - Faculty development events, and assessment and course evaluation information
Tricia - Peer leader, graduate leader, presentations, and TutorTrac Information
Penny & Caroline - Course administration, student registration, and dual employment information
VIP - To find your most up-to-date class roster and contact information for your students, to submit Class Absence Referrals (CAR), and to submit final grades, login to VIP and click on the Academics tab.
Blackboard - To communicate with your students, post announcements, access The State Newspaper, and post mid-semester grades, login to Blackboard. The Blackboard roster is manually updated by UTS and not as accurate as VIP. Be sure to add your Peer or Graduate Leader to Blackboard as a TA under the Users and Groups tab. UTS offers Blackboard trainings every summer.
SharePoint Intranet - All instructors, graduate leaders, and peer leaders have access to SharePoint (a website) for sample lesson plans, assignments, activities, and syllabi; access to the electronic FRM; minutes from UNIV 101 faculty meetings and workshops; and syllabus building resources. Access the SharePoint intranet from the University 101 Programs’ website. Your network username (with ds\ preceding it) and network password will grant you access.
UNIV 101 Website - Is full of useful information about University 101. In addition to important dates, you will find access to SharePoint and TutorTrac. www.sc.edu/univ101
TutorTrac - Is the online sign-up process for campus partner presentations. Access will be granted in the spring. All campus partner presentations should be scheduled via TutorTrac.
Transitions - Transitions is printed every two years. New editions will be provided at BCC. Peer and Graduate Leaders will be provided a copy at their respective trainings.
Peer Leader Toolkit All Peer Leaders are provided with a specialized training and support manual at their spring training. The Toolkit is similar to the FRM is design, but tailored to the Peer Leader experience. It will be the primary resource utilized in their EDLP 520 course (required course for all first time peer leaders.
Alcohol Training - All Peer and Graduate Leaders will be trained in facilitating conversations about alcohol by staff from the Department of Student Life and the Office of Student Conduct.
Faculty Resource Manual (FRM) - The Faculty Resource Manual is updated annually. Each instructor is provided a hardcopy at TEW and each Graduate Leader is provided a copy at their spring training. The FRM is also available on SharePoint in Microsoft Word and PDF. You will be notified when the FRM is updated.
