In accordance with Section 56-5-195, South Carolina Code of Laws, any entity transporting preprimary, primary, or secondary school students to or from school or school-related activities, must transport these students in a vehicle meeting federal school bus safety standards. The University's (Vehicle Management and Parking Services) bus fleet does not meet the federal school bus safety standards. Therefore, all departments who have previously used the Carolina Shuttle System to transport school students must now use other sources until the USC bus fleet has been updated to comply with the current law. Mr. Don Tudor, Department of Education, Transportation Director, suggests that you contact school districts that can service your needs. Below you will find a list of District Transportation Managers to contact.
