Government and Community Relations

Government and Community Relations are led by this office. This office also strengthens partnerships between the university’s friends and neighbors and the greater academic community, to encourage support and serve as USC's liaison to local and state government and the community.

Services

  • Federal Relations: The university has a representative in the nation’s capital to both executive and legislative branches. This representative is a key part of the administrative team, advising the university president on legislative strategy and communicating to the university community about higher education and research issues in Washington, D.C.
  • State and Community Relations: The university has a chief representative to both the state executive and legislative branches. This office serves as a link between the university, surrounding neighborhoods, civic groups and local government. Its mission is to build relationships, share information and seek new opportunities that match the university’s strategic plan with needs in the community. The representative is also a key member of the administrative team, advising the university president on legislative strategy and communicating to the university community about higher education issues in the state.
