Welcome to the Galen Health Fellows Learning and Living Community at the University of South Carolina! As you step onto the University of South Carolina’s large campus, you will be plugged in immediately to the Galen community. Our community builds connections among the Galen Health Fellows that support the transition to college life with the bonus of getting a jump start in your professional development as a future healthcare provider.
As a part of this community, you will have the opportunity to participate in unique activities and learning experiences that will cultivate an understanding and passion for your future career as a healthcare provider. All of the Galen experiences are linked to our five pillars of success : Cultural Competence, Interprofessional Collaboration, Effective Communication, Leadership and Service. As a Galen Health Fellow you will also have access to high-impact learning experiences through student research grants, study-abroad trips, and leadership opportunities. We design professional development events where Galen Fellows have the opportunity to hear from clinical experts and dynamic speakers who will share their perspectives on current healthcare topics and healthcare education.
Here at Galen Health Fellows, we help guide you on a roadmap to begin developing the skills necessary to be a successful healthcare provider, support key experiences to allow you to be a stand apart job applicant as you enter the workforce and/or stand apart applicant to graduate healthcare programs.
