In the interview, completed only a few weeks after election night in 1992, Brack talks at length about the Hollings-Hartnett U.S. Senate campaign and his role as spokesman, and his assessment of the Hartnett campaign. In the race, Hollings was opposed by Republican and former Congressman Tommy Hartnett. Hollings' seat had been targeted by the Republican Party as vulnerable and, indeed, the race proved to be one of the closest in Hollings' history. He won reelection with 50.07% of the vote.
