General Academic Scholarships

The University of South Carolina awards over 1000 scholarships each year to entering freshman.  In order to be considered for one of these awards, students should apply early and follow the application instructions provided by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.  Students who wish to be considered for the Carolina Scholars, McNair Scholars, and Alumni Scholars awards will need to complete the appropriate resident or non-SC resident University Honors College and Scholarship Application also provided by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and available at most high-school guidance offices in the state.  The University Honors College and Scholarship Application must be returned to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, postmarked by November 15.  The postmark date applies to both South Carolina residents and non-South Carolina resident students.  A student may receive only one general University Scholarship with the exception of the Lieber Scholarship.
