Loan Counseling for Perkins Loans, Nursing Loans, and Health Professions Loans
It is required by law that all students receiving Perkins Loans, Nursing Loans, or Health Professions Loans undergo both entrance and exit loan counseling. This counseling provides critical information about your loans and your rights and responsibilities as a student borrower. This counseling can be done on the web at the sites indicated below.
Entrance Loan Counseling
This counseling provides critical information about your loans and your rights and responsibilities as a student borrower. Your loan will not be available for you to use towards your charges until this requirement is met. Additionally, you will also be required to electronically sign a Promissory Note on ECSI's website at https://www.ecsi.net/prom.
Exit Loan Counseling
Near the end of the term you expect to graduate, or if you are withdrawing and you have had a Perkins Loan, Nursing Loan, or Health Professions Loan while at the University of South Carolina, your must complete the requirements for exit loan counseling.
