National Fellowship Advisement
National fellowship advisement is provided to Honors College students by the Office of Fellowships and Scholar Programs [OFSP]. This office provides essay reviews, reflective conversations, and interview practice for specific national competitions, as well as pairing students with faculty mentors. These scholarships and fellowships include the Fulbright, Goldwater, Marshall, Madison, National Science Foundation, Rhodes, Truman, Udall, and Hollings, among others.
As an Honors College student you can schedule an appointment to meet with a national fellowship advisor and learn how to apply for a national fellowship that fits your academic interests and career goals. You can also check out the INFO database to investigate national fellowship opportunities that match your interests.
In the last five years, the University has averaged over 50 national scholarship awards per year. Carolina students and recent alumni, with coaching from OFSP, have won 845 national awards totaling more than $26 million for academic study. An average of 60 percent of those awards have been won by Honors College students. While our ultimate goal is to see Honors College students earn these prestigious scholarships and fellowships, the preparation process in and of itself enhances and focuses students’ academic, personal, and career goals.
OFSP is located on the Horseshoe, on the 3rd Floor of DeSaussure.
