Pharmaceutical Sciences, Ph.D.

Develop independent research skills necessary to create new knowledge in the field of pharmacy. You'll receive interdisciplinary training and education while developing a personalized program of study.

Work side by side with faculty members who are pioneering research in drug discovery and outcomes sciences that will improve the future health of people in South Carolina, the nation and the world. You'll choose one of two tracks in the doctoral program: drug discovery and biomedical sciences or pharmaceutical outcomes sciences.

What You’ll Study

Pursue the drug discovery and biomedical sciences track to study disease mechanisms, drug toxicity and the design and development of pharmaceutical and anti-cancer agents, or pursue the pharmaceutical outcomes sciences track to develop data analysis skills and expertise in pharmacoeconomics, pharmacoepidemiology or implementation science and health policy.
