Job Shadowing for Students

The USC Job Shadow Program is a real-world, hands-on experience in a professional environment supported by an employer located in Columbia. This is your chance to explore a career or industry and build your professional network.

Program Eligibility

The program is open to current USC students (ages 18+) seeking an undergraduate degree (Associate, Bachelor's), certificate or diploma.

Program Expectations

Review the Job Shadow Guide for Students and the Code of Conduct to help you prepare to shadow.
Send a brief thank you note to your host shortly after shadowing.
You are expected to arrange your own transportation.

Experiential Education Guidance

You can meet with an Experiential Education Manager to discuss your interests, identify an individual to contact, and receive guidance on a job shadowing opportunity. If you are not quite ready to visit a job site for a job shadow, find out more about a career by asking an expert through an informational interview.
