As part of our commitment to creating an inclusive campus and workplace, we have established an instructive diversity course to help students build skills to help them be succeed in their personal, academic, and professional lives.

Mandatory Harassment and Discrimination Prevention Training 

The Office of Equal Opportunity Programs offers a diversity course that is required at the University of South Carolina for all incoming students (first time freshmen and transfers). It covers principles and best practices related to diversity and inclusion.

Training Details 

  • Within their first semester, students will receive notice of the course in their campus email.
  • The course is entitled, “Brave and Bold Dialogues”.
  • Estimates vary; however, it may take you one to two hours to complete the mandatory training module. The module does not have to be completed in one session. You can save your work throughout the course and return to finish at another time.
  • Deadline for completion is noted in the email.

A printable certificate is embedded at the end of each training. Please print the certificates for the modules you complete and save it; it can be used to verify you completion or as a part of your own professional portfolio.

A link will be forwarded to your University of South Carolina email address that allows you to access your assigned training module. Please refer to our FAQs below for additional information.

We have extended the deadline a little, please complete the training ASAP to avoid a hold on your account. 

Keep it for your records. The system generates a list of students who have completed the training. So we do not need to see your certificate; we are able to verify your completion on our end. 

You must first “register” for the course on the site, and then you will be able to enter the Bold and Brave Diversity Training. AGAIN! PLEASE REGISTER BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO LOGIN.

Many students waited until the last minute and the site cashed a few times due to the volume of traffic. You should be able to login now. 

Click on the "Help" and report your problem to the vender. They will help you. 

Use your UofSC credentials. If you do not know then, go to my.sc.edu and retrieve them. 

This training is the vision of President Caslen. He is interested in UofSC student being equipped with diversity and inclusion information, tools, and skills to help them in an increasingly diverse society.
