Our Mission
TCO identifies, protects, and commercializes intellectual property created by faculty, staff, and students at the University that advances economic, intellectual, and societal growth.
Since 1987, TCO has assisted faculty, staff, and students in protecting innovations and research. Today, the office also works with business and entrepreneurial interests to help identify, protect, and commercialize the university's intellectual property to increase research funding and spur economic growth throughout South Carolina.
Our Method
We coordinate with USC researchers, legal counsel, and interested partners to evaluate and unleash the potential of emerging innovations that originate at USC.
Our Impact
The result is a history of creative solutions adopted by companies whose return on investment affects more than just the bottom line. Through recognizing and developing promising discoveries, we enable key players to increase their efficiency and effectiveness at tackling critical issues that arise in communities locally, nationally, and around the globe.
