Nielson and Whelen recognized for their work

The Geography Department extends its congratulations — and thanks — to the winners of the department's graduate teaching awards:

• The Graduate Instructor Award goes to Sam Nielson
• The Graduate TA Award goes to Tracy Whelen.

This year's recipient of the Lovingood Graduate Research Award is Sam Nielson. Nielson also received the Terry G. Jordan-Bychkov Paper Award from the Cultural Geography Specialty Group of the AAG for his paper "Exploring 'Citizenship' Among Immigrants Attending Walloon Civic Integration Courses."
