Focus

Govinda's research focus is on applying second harmonic generation (SHG) technique to study different crystal structures. SHG is a noninvasive frequency doubling process that can be used to study crystal surfaces. This technique is used to investigate single crystals and heterostructures. He also uses a cryostat to tune sample’s temperature down to 3K and study modifications in SHG signal as a function of temperature.
