Our Story
What began as a lighthearted idea among spirit enthusiasts grew into a full-fledged initiative housed within the university’s network of centers and institutes.
The Cocky Center builds on a proud tradition of creativity, research and community connection, honoring the mascot who has inspired generations of Gamecocks.
From the earliest Big Spur appearances to Cocky’s modern-day stardom, each chapter reflects the passion that defines South Carolina. Our work ensures that legacy continues in classrooms, at games and anywhere the garnet and black fly high.
