Baccalaureate, Masters and Professional Ceremonies

Friday, May 5, 2017 — 3:00 p.m.
Candidates: Darla Moore School of Business, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and Arnold School of Public Health

Saturday, May 6, 2017 — 9:30 a.m.
Candidates: College of Arts and Sciences, College of Information and Communications and South Carolina Honors College (BARSC students only)

Saturday, May 6, 2017 — 3:00 p.m.
Candidates: College of Education, College of Engineering and Computing, College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sports Management, Interdisciplinary Programs, Palmetto College, School of Music, and College of Social Work

The president of the University of South Carolina presides over official ceremonies, which include Carolina’s time-honored tradition of honoring each degree candidate by name. During the ceremony, graduation candidates will be personally congratulated for their accomplishment by the president and the dean of the graduate’s college or school. The ceremony usually takes around 2 to 2 ½ hours at the Colonial Life Arena

Colonial Life Arena

Locations and Parking

Metered, street parking near the Colonial Life Arena and the Koger Center for the Arts will be very limited. There are four large parking lots within walking distance to both venues and parking is also available in the nearby Discovery Garage. Accessible parking is available in most, if not all, of these lots for those with a state-issued disability pass, sticker or license plate. The Pendleton Street Garage (entrance is on Bull Street) will be available for guests attending commencement exercises at the Historic Horseshoe. Guests may park at the metered spaces in the garage at no charge.
