Who cares if the glass is half-full or half-empty? It matters who’s thirsty.

Impactful experience:
My most impactful experience outside the classroom was definitely my internship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. While working there, I finally saw the career of a physician scientist to be a viable pathway for me, and I would never have been able to do it without the Stamps Enrichment Fund.

Enjoy most as a TS:
My favorite part of being a Top Scholar has definitely been the network of friends I have gotten to know over these four years. All of them will go on to do outstanding things in their fields, and I feel very privileged having spent this time with them.

Story:
My time at USC has been nothing short of incredible - I've been privileged to have so many amazing mentors and friends, but when I look back on my experiences here, one of my favorite memories I'll take with me has been my intramural soccer team. With my fellow scholars, Nancy Jones and Travis Dias, I competed on an intramural soccer team all four years of college. Although we unfortunately came up short each year, playing with them has always reminded me that pursuing your passions should never get in the way of enjoying the present moment. Sometimes it's best to take a step back and appreciate all the friendships and memories you are grateful for.

Post-graduate plans:
Shub will move to New York later to work at Memorial Sloan Kettering (Cornell’s Cancer Center), while applying to MD/PhD programs with the goal of matriculating the following year.

Career goals/professional aspirations:
I intend to obtain an MD/PhD and pursue a career as a physician scientist designing novel immunotherapies for cancer patients.
