Academics

USC offers more than 350 degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The most comprehensive collection of academic offerings can be found in the Academic Bulletins. Undergraduate Admissions also has a list of majors. Additionally, most academic departments have information about their programs on their individual Web sites.

Undergraduate Admissions

Incoming freshmen, transfers, students seeking readmission, undergraduate non-degree applicants, international undergraduate students, and South Carolina Honors College applicants all apply to the University through Undergraduate Admissions. Deadlines and application forms vary, so be sure to check the Admissions site. Undergraduate Admissions

Graduate Admissions

Graduate students are admitted through a cooperative effort between the Graduate School and the University's colleges, schools, and departments. Application is made to The Graduate School online and, admission is granted by The Graduate School on the recommendation of colleges, schools, and departments.

A faculty member who serves as the graduate director in each academic department coordinates admissions decisions. Graduate assistantships, including tuition reduction, and fellowships are available, and are normally administered by individual graduate directors.

Application requirements and deadlines for applying vary; please check the appropriate college, school, or department Web site, and the Graduate Bulletin for more specific information. Graduate Admissions

South Carolina College of Pharmacy/
USC College of Pharmacy

The newly created South Carolina College of Pharmacy is administering the Pharmacy Doctorate (Pharm.D.), a first-professional degree, beginning with fall 2006 admission. The college is a merger of USC's and the Medical University of South Carolina's professional programs.

USC undergraduates who wish to pursue the degree can apply in the fall of their second year and, if accepted, would begin the program in the fall of their third year. There is a single application process for the college, but the number of admitted students will be limited to 110 on the USC campus and 80 on the MUSC campus.

USC's College of Pharmacy will still oversee two graduate programs: Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences (four master's and four Ph.D. degrees) and Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes Sciences (one master's and one Ph.D. degree).

Applications for these traditional degrees are made through The Graduate School. South Carolina College of Pharmacy/USC College of Pharmacy
