The Carolina Core, USC's new general education program, offers the traditional foundation for college study with exciting innovations tailored to learning in each student's particular area of interest.
- The new Carolina Core includes foundational courses in communications, analytical reasoning and problem solving, scientific literacy, the arts, global citizenship and multicultural understanding, as well as in areas of information literacy and values/ethics/social responsibility.
- The Carolina Core also extends beyond the foundational courses to give students the opportunity to further develop the Carolina Core competencies in an integrative course in their program major.
