Biography

Meardey Hillegass is one of the IRF’s histology experts. She completed her Bachelor of Science in biological sciences at Chestnut Hill College in Germantown, PA, and held numerous histology-based positions, before moving to South Carolina and joining the IRF staff in 2022. In addition to her histology responsibilities, Meardey assists the electron microscopy (MCBA 742) class with sample preparation and staining for TEM imaging. She enjoys learning new techniques and assisting IRF users with experimental design. Outside of work, Meardey enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son.
