The College of Social Work and the University of South Carolina are committed to supporting robust research activity for students and faculty alike.

As a researcher at the College of Social Work, you’ll join a network of faculty with a proven track record of external grant funding. Our faculty scholarship has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the National Kidney Foundation, the Fulbright Scholar Program, the Duke Endowment, the U.S. Department of Justice, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the U.S. State Department, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the National Cancer Institute and the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, among others.

 

University Funding Sources

In addition to research mentors at the college, you will be able to access university resources from the Office of the Vice President for Research designed to support your scholarship. The university’s research support offices offer a range of services and can help you with tasks such as preparing a proposal for funding, identifying funding opportunities or managing data.

The University of South Carolina also offers a signature group of internal funding and awards for faculty, students and postdoctoral researchers.
