UofSC honored for trees

The University of South Carolina’s historic Horseshoe has been recognized by the City of Columbia for its trees.  

The City of Columbia Tree & Appearance Commission and Columbia Green have chosen the winners of the 13th Annual Columbia Choice Awards.  The Choice Awards recognizes individuals, neighborhoods, businesses, developers and organizations whose work has significantly enhanced the appearance and quality of life of in the City of Columbia.  

UofSC’s horseshoe was recognized in the special achievement category. Tom Knowles, assistant director of Landscaping & Environmental Services, Jay Waters, area supervisor, Charlie Ryan and Kevin Curtis were credited for their hard work keeping campus beautiful.
