The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering disaster assistance to those who were affected by South Carolina’s recent flood.

Those who sustained losses or damage to property from the flood may be eligible for disaster aid. Disaster assistance may be provided as financial or direct assistance to individuals and families whose property has been damaged or destroyed, and whose losses are not covered by insurance. The goal of FEMA assistance is to make homes safe, sanitary and functional.x

You can register for disaster aid online or by phone at 800-621-3362.

The toll-free telephone number will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week until further notice.

Multilingual operators are available. Disaster-assistance applicants who are deaf or hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use TTY should call 800-462-7585. For those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 800-621-3362.
