New UofSC Board of Visitors named



The University of South Carolina recently named three new members to its Board of Visitors: UofSC Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences professor Venkat Lakshmi, Charleston attorney Edwin “Warren” Moïse and North Carolina businessman William “Norwood” Smith.

The three new members join five other who were appointed during the current 2014-2015 academic year. They include: BP executive Larry Thomas, Myrtle Beach attorney David Miller, Florence dentist John "Johnny" L. Bruce, Jr., SC Department of Commerce executive Moe Brown, communications executive Timothy “Tim” Hallman and SCANA executive Jeffrey Archie.

The Board of Visitors assists the Board of Trustees and President Harris Pastides on issues related to the promotion of the university. The board works to enhance the image of the university by encouraging alumni participation and inviting broad public support for Carolina’s mission.
