Fall Transfer Welcome

This two-week long program is dedicated to helping new transfer students adjust to the university and feel welcomed and connected. Transfer Welcome will consist of more than 10 events that are designed for transfer students at USC but are open to all USC students.

All events will take place in Fall 2025!

Join other new transfer students on this tour to find your way around campus!

SSC Mezzanine (top level of Thomas Cooper Library)

Transfer students to USC (both new and returning) are encouraged to join for a welcome lunch and trivia game! Come meet other transfer students and learn about opportunities to get connected on campus. Lunch is free but an RSVP is required.

The lunch is hosted by the Carolina Experience and will take place in the SSC Mezzanine (top level of the Thomas Cooper Library). 

The Student Success Center will open Gamecock School Supplies one day early just for transfer students attending the transfer welcome lunch! Be sure to attend to be able to shop for FREE school supplies

Transfer students know how to do college already, but they may need a little extra support in adapting to the large Columbia campus. This session will go over our top tips on how to succeed at USC and cover items that we hear from transfer students each year: common USC slang, common apps at USC, best places to study, where to eat on and off campus and more!

Living off campus? Trying to figure out where to park and how to get to campus everyday? We may not have all the answers, but we do have some tips for making a plan on how to navigate campus!

The traditional welcome event for all new students is First Night Carolina! New and returning transfer students can walk over to the First Night Carolina together and participate as a group. Just meet in the Capstone Campus Room at 5:40pm to walk over together!
