This three-week long program is dedicated to helping new transfer students adjust to the university and feel welcomed and connected. Fall 2026 Transfer Welcome will consist of more than 10 events that are designed for transfer students at USC but are open to all USC students.

A full day of events to welcome you to campus and help get you connected. Attend as much or as little as you like, just RSVP so we know to expect you!

Meet in Russell House University Union Ballroom
Join other new transfer students on this tour to find your way around campus! Please note this is a walking tour!
Welcome Luncheon
12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
Russell House University Union Ballroom
Transfer students to USC (both new and returning) are encouraged to join for an official welcome, free lunch, panel with past transfer students, and trivia game! Come meet other transfer students and learn about opportunities to get connected on campus. Lunch is free but an RSVP is required.
Athletic Tickets Workshop
2 p.m.- 2:45 p.m.
Russell House University Union Ballroom
Join other new transfer students to learn how the student ticketing process works for sporting events at USC! Such as football! RSVP is required.

- Parking and Commuting Workshop- Tips and tricks on parking, tickets, and more before the first day of class!

- Getting Involved Workshop- Overview of how to get involved in student organizations and connections to key offices on campus
- Non-Traditional Student Meet and Greet- An informal opportunity for students over the age of 24 to connect with one another!

Snacks, Crafts, and Gamecock School Supplies

Relax and wind down before First Night Carolina. We will have coloring sheets, simple pottery, friendship bracelet kits and more craft supplies to enjoy along with lots of snacks! The Student Success Center will open Gamecock School Supplies early for transfer students to access for FREE school supplies!
Walk Together to First Night Carolina
6:30 p.m.
Meet at Student Success Center- Thomas Cooper Library, Mezzanine Level
The traditional welcome event for all new students is First Night Carolina! New and returning transfer students can walk over to the First Night Carolina together and participate as a group. Just meet in the Student Success Center at 6:30pm to walk over to the Horseshoe together! Event will run from 7 p.m.- 10 p.m. and you can stay as long as you like!

This session will go over our top tips on how to succeed at USC and cover items that we hear from transfer students each year: common USC slang, common apps at USC, best places to study, where to eat on and off campus and more! Hosted by the Carolina Experience office.
