Please complete our interest survey on federal funding agency workshops

In the coming months, the Office of the Vice President for Research plans to offer a series of 90-minute workshops for UofSC faculty, each focused on one federal research funding agency. The workshop format will include a presentation lasting about one hour on strategies for success with the agency, followed by about 30 minutes of Q&A with faculty members who have been funded by the agency. To help us select and prioritize the agencies these workshops will focus on, please complete our one-question interest survey.

Faculty mentors: Remember to have undergraduate students register their research

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) wants to know about research involving undergraduate students across the UofSC system. It is easy for undergraduate students to report their research each semester through the OUR Research Registry. Registering undergraduate research projects helps the OUR recognize undergraduate researchers and their mentors, and helps the office demonstrate the significant role and value that research opportunities deliver for undergraduate students when they apply their learning beyond the classroom. Complete details about what research to report, when to report it and how are available on the OUR Research Registry webpage.

Thanksgiving holiday wishes to the UofSC research community

The Weekly Research Update will be on hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday next week. In this season of gratitude, the Office of the Vice President for Research appreciates the contributions of every member of the UofSC research community. It is because of the outstanding faculty members, supportive staffers, postdoctoral and student scholars at every level that our research community is so strong and vital. We wish each of you a happy Thanksgiving holiday and a festive start to the winter holiday season.
