About

AFROTC Detachment 775 at the University of South Carolina is only one of more than 1,100 colleges and universities across the country dedicated to developing leaders of tomorrow by preparing students to become officers in the U.S. Air and Space Forces while earning a college degree.

Why Detachment 775?

Professional Development Opportunities

This is an exciting two-day leadership experience with a blend of keynote speakers, TED talk style stage speakers, and interactive small-group lab sessions held at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama.

The annual National Character and Leadership Symposium (NCLS) is the United States Air Force Academy’s (USAFA) flagship event on character and leadership. It brings together distinguished scholars, military leaders, corporate executives, and world-class athletes to motivate and equip participants for honorable living and effective leadership.

This is a summer internship that develops cadets into the next-generation of cyberspace leaders through education, problem-solving, military operations, and advanced Air Force specific academics. Formal education cover information warfare, cryptography, network security, digital forensics, wireless security, and formal security concepts.

A paid internship that offers selected interns valuable hands-on experience working with full-time AFRL scientists and engineers on cutting-edge research and technology, and can contribute to unique, research-based projects.

Project Global Officer (GO) is an initiative of the Defense Language and National Security Education Office (DLNSEO), administered by the Institute of International Education to promote critical language and study abroad opportunities to ROTC students. The U.S. military needs future military officers who possess the necessary critical language and cross-cultural communication skills required for effective leadership in the 21st century operational environment. Project GO Scholars study the following critical languages in domestic and overseas programs: Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu. Travel and internship dates are determined by Project GO upon acceptance into the program.

Join your peers from around the country as you spend two-weeks experiencing hands-on operations at select Air Force bases.
Interested in flying? The “You Can Fly” program provides selected cadets with a $3,500 scholarship to complete private pilots ground school and roughly 15-hours of flight time.
Each semester AFROTC cadets are presented with recurring and new professional development opportunities to help shape your experience as future leaders in the United States Air and Space Forces.
